Our Process

At Advanced Therapy Center, we understand complex human dynamics and how the brain adapts. We tailor each treatment plan to help create change to achieve your goals.

Getting to Know You

We start by learning about you—your concerns, your goals, and what you’ve already tried. Together, we talk through what’s been helpful and what hasn’t, so we can decide the best next steps for you. We recommend that you do cognitive testing with us to establish a solid baseline and help define your goals.

Brain Mapping
(Q-EEG and ERP)

Most treatment plans begin with a simple, non-invasive brain map called a Q-EEG. We record a short sample of your brain activity and compare it to typical patterns for people your age. This helps us understand how different areas of your brain are working and where support may be most helpful. We also recommend an ERP (evoked Response Potential) test that shows us how information is processed in your brain.

The Quantitative EEG (Q-EEG) uses computerized analysis tools to record 10 minutes of your brain activity, collecting 19 channels of brain waves to create a map of how the different areas of your cortex are communicating. By comparing the way your brain is working to an extensive database of people your age without brain-based difficulties, we can pinpoint areas to target with Neurofeedback training.

An Evoked Response Potential (ERP) test is a simple, non-invasive way to see how fast and how well your brain reacts to sights or  sounds. Electrodes on the scalp record tiny electrical signals your brain produces when it notices a stimulus. If those signals are delayed or weaker than expected, it can suggest that a nerve pathway isn’t working efficiently.

Cognitive Testing

Cognitive testing, like CNS Vital Signs, is a quick, computerized way to measure how well your brain handles everyday mental tasks—things like memory, attention, processing speed, and problem solving. It gives a clear snapshot of your cognitive strengths and weaknesses so clinicians can see how your brain is functioning and track changes over time. We use this test initially and at intervals during training to track results.

Your Personalized Plan

Using the results of your brain map, we create a customized plan just for you. Unlike most Neurofeedback/Neurotherapy services we use a variety of different systems. This allows us to find the best fit for each person. This may include neurofeedback, neurostim, psychotherapy, or a combination of both. In some cases, we may also recommend other tools, such as the LENS system, especially for head injuries or complex medical needs.

Treatment Sessions

Neurotherapy sessions are designed to be comfortable and engaging. You might watch a movie, listen to music, or play a game while your brain receives gentle feedback to encourage healthier patterns. Many people also choose to use this time for counseling or talk therapy.

Ongoing Support

As we track your progress, we may suggest additional supports—such as lifestyle changes, stress management tools, exercise, or brief trauma-focused work—to help you get the most benefit from treatment.
